Life is Always a Choice!

There are people who believe that life happens to them, that they are victims of circumstances and that success comes to others by luck and good timing.
Life is always a choice. Everything that has or has not happened in your life is because of the choices you have made. Every aspect in our life can be traced back to a series of choices we have made in the past.

Life is Made of Choices

We as human beings have been given this power of the freedom of will which allows us to change any result that we do not agree with, just by making a choice to change. Most of us choose to make excuses and blame others for our poor results in life. The result is that we remain stuck where we are currently right now. We stop ourselves to see the bright prospects of the future.

If we let outer events influence our lives, we become their slaves and we lose our freedom. We let our fate be determined by outer forces. You don’t have to continue this choice down to self-destruction. Take yourself from where you are to where you want to be.
You could begin today and take charge of your life and start to focus on every choice you make. Take control of your life and get what is truly yours. Take full responsibility for where you are currently in life. If you’re not happy with what you have today, then make a choice right now to make a change in your life that will bring you more of the things that you want.
Sure enough, the world is not a perfect place to live. We make incorrect choices but we also have a choice if we let that mistake deter us from advancing in life. Choose to learn from your mistake and move forward after learning from the process.

Let me share to you a story about two eggs and the choices they make to become what they want when they hatch.

There are two eggs, both of which are about to hatch in a matter of days. As the days of hatching comes nearer, the two talked to each other on what they want to become when they hatch.

The first egg said: “I want to become a seashell when I hatch. A seashell just stays in the water and never has to make any choices. The current of the ocean move it about and it doesn’t have to plan on what’s ahead of it. Whatever the ocean provides is what the seashell receives, no more, no less.”
The first egg then continued, “That’s the life for me. It may be limited, but there are no choices to make and no responsibilities to accomplish. There’s a secure existence controlled only by the ocean.”

The second egg, then replied: “That’s not the life for me. I wish to be an eagle for its free to go wherever it wants to go and do what it pleases. Of course, it is responsible for hunting its own food and making survival choices, but it is also free to fly as high as the highest mountains.”
The second egg continued, “The eagle is in control instead of being controlled by others. I want no limits placed upon me, nor do I want to be a slave of the ocean. I am willing to expend the efforts required to live the life of an eagle. I will create my own destiny.”
Which of the two eggs do you want to become with your life – that of the seashell or that of an eagle? The choice is yours and only yours to make.

Choose your thoughts for they become words. Choose your words for they become actions. Choose your actions for they become a habit. Choose your habits for they become your character. Choose your character for it becomes your destiny.
